Achilles slot features on the lobby tile
Achilles takes its name from the Greek hero of the Trojan War story, and the tile's theme line says as much. The rest of the tile is three plain statements: 20 paylines, a medium volatility label and a local random jackpot.
Medium is the second of the four volatility labels the lobby uses (low, medium, high and very high). It points to a game that neither drips out small wins all the time nor routinely goes long stretches without one. It is the lobby's label for the game, not a promise about any session you play.
Just as telling is what the tile leaves off. It lists no free games, wilds, multipliers or pick round. That does not prove Achilles has none of them, only that the lobby does not say so, and none of the Springbok reviews we hold covers the game. Its release-date field, 1 April 2006, makes it the second-earliest release in the Popular tab, after Cleopatra's Gold.

On paper, Achilles and Lion's Lair are close to twins: the same volatility label, line count and jackpot line. The differences the lobby shows are the label, since Lion's Lair is one of the 49 games marked IG (a tag Springbok does not explain), and its absence from the Popular tab. Cleopatra's Gold is the one to look at if you want the same shape with a higher volatility label.
The Slots tab also lists Achilles Deluxe directly after Achilles. It is a separate title, and we have not recorded its tile, so do not assume it shares these specs.
The local random jackpot on Achilles
"Local random jackpot" is all the tile says about the prize, and two of its words do the work. "Local" sets it apart from the Progressives-tab tiles we document, which describe network progressives, and "random" from the "symbol driven" wording most of those tiles use. Achilles is not in the Progressives tab. The tile gives no size, tier list or trigger rate, and this site never quotes jackpot amounts.
Do not confuse it with Springbok's opt-in Lobby Jackpot, a separate side bet across all slots that its terms describe Checked · 9 Oct 2026. Nothing on the Achilles tile mentions it.
Finding Achilles in the Springbok lobby
The Slots tab runs A to Z, so Achilles is near the very top: title 2 of 244, straight after 5 Wishes, with Achilles Deluxe right behind it. Achilles with the free chip
The R250 free chip, coupon TEST-SPRINGBOK, needs no deposit and can be played on Achilles. R15,000 in bets is a lot of spinning for a R250 start, so treat it as a free look at the game rather than a likely payout. The cash-out cap is where Springbok's pages disagree. Is Achilles a high-volatility slot?
No. Springbok's lobby tile labels Achilles medium volatility. Of the three slots we document with the same line count and a local random jackpot, only Cleopatra's Gold carries the higher label.
How many paylines does Achilles have?
The lobby tile says 20 paylines. It gives no reel layout and no other line options.
Does Achilles have a progressive jackpot?
Its tile lists a local random jackpot, not a network progressive, and Achilles is not in the lobby's Progressives tab. No jackpot size is published.
Is Achilles Deluxe the same game as Achilles?
No. The Slots tab lists Achilles Deluxe as a separate title right after Achilles. We have not recorded its tile, so its specs are not covered here.
