Lion's Lair symbols: the Lair scatter and the Lion wild
The tile names two special symbols: the Lair is the scatter, and the Lion is the substitute, the symbol most players call the wild.
The Lion substitute
A substitute stands in for ordinary symbols to complete a line, so a Lion on an active line can turn a near miss into a paying combination. The tile does not say whether the Lion pays on its own, replaces the Lair, or ever expands or multiplies. Assume none of that until the paytable confirms it.
The Lair scatter
Scatters usually count wherever they land, and on most slots they open a bonus round. That is where Lion's Lair gets puzzling: its tile lists no free games or bonus round at all. The Lair may only pay scatter wins, or it may start a feature the tile leaves out. Nothing Springbok has published settles it.
The Lion's Lair jackpot: local and random
The tile's last line reads "Local random jackpot", the same wording found on Achilles and Cleopatra's Gold. "Local" places the prize inside this one game instead of a network pool, and Lion's Lair is not in the lobby's Progressives tab. "Random" means the tile does not tie the prize to a symbol combination. No size, tier name or trigger rate is given, and this site does not quote live jackpot amounts. Nor is it Springbok's opt-in Lobby Jackpot, a separate side bet that the tile never mentions.
Lion's Lair and the IG label
Lion's Lair is one of 49 games the lobby marks IG; the other 233 carry RTG, and Springbok's footer shows only a Realtime Gaming badge. Springbok never says what IG stands for. Among the slots documented here, the IG group mixes network progressives such as Megasaur with a Hold & Spin game, Planet Of The 'Roos, and Lion's Lair is the only one whose tile describes a local jackpot. For players the label changes nothing visible; the breakdown of the RTG and IG labels lists which documented games carry each.
Lion's Lair vs Big Cat Links and Meerkat Misfits
Look for lions or safari themes in the lobby and you find several games. Three of them have spec sheets here, and under the shared theme they are very different machines.
| On the tile | Lion's Lair | Big Cat Links | Meerkat Misfits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lobby label | IG | RTG | RTG |
| Volatility | medium | high | high |
| Lines | 20 paylines | 50 paylines | 30 paylines |
| Jackpots | One local random jackpot | Five named tiers, Super Grand down to Mini | None listed |
| Features | None listed beyond the scatter and wild | Fortune Link and free games | Multiplying wilds and staged free games |
| Springbok review | None found | On file | On file |
If you want the cat theme with more going on, Big Cat Links is the busier game, at a higher volatility label. Lion's Lair is the plain option: fewer lines, a medium label and no listed bonus round. The Slots tab also holds Great Golden Lion, which we have not documented, so do not carry these specs across to it.
Finding Lion's Lair in the Springbok lobby
None of the lobby's shortlists features Lion's Lair, so the full alphabetical Slots tab is where it lives: number 105 of 244, between Lil Red and Little Griffins. The tile writes the name with an apostrophe, while an older game list in the lobby's data spells it Lions Lair, so if you search for it, try both forms. The guide to Springbok's slots explains how the rest of the tab is laid out.
Playing Lion's Lair with the welcome package
With no published bet range or top award, the sensible plan for Lion's Lair is one fixed stake you are happy to repeat many times, comfortably below the R100 per-spin ceiling that applies while a bonus is active. Spend a few practice spins first on finding out what the Lair scatter actually does.
Questions people ask
Who makes the Lion's Lair slot?
Springbok's lobby labels it IG, a tag it puts on 49 games without explaining it. The footer shows a Realtime Gaming badge, but nothing published ties Lion's Lair to a named studio, so we do not name one.
Does Lion's Lair have free spins?
Its lobby tile lists none. It names a Lair scatter, a Lion substitute and a local random jackpot, and there is no Springbok review to add anything.
What is the RTP of Lion's Lair?
Springbok does not publish one for this game. Neither the lobby tile nor any Springbok page gives an RTP, so this page leaves it out.
When was Lion's Lair released?
No reliable date is published. The lobby's data holds a date that matches no launch announcement, so we leave it out.
Is Lion's Lair the same game as Great Golden Lion?
No. Great Golden Lion is a separate title in the Slots tab, and we have not recorded its tile.
