How the Meerkat Misfits wild multipliers work
Springbok's claim In Springbok's description, a wild's value depends on where it lands. The preview places wilds on the second reel onward and gives each of those reels its own multiplier, one step bigger per reel to the right: on the second reel the multiplier leaves a win as it is, and each reel after it adds a step. The spec sheet lists the values, and the tile confirms the top one.
Why the reel matters on a payline game
If Meerkat Misfits counts wins from the leftmost reel, as payline slots usually do (the rules page confirms how this one pays), a short win across the first few reels can only pick up the smaller multipliers. The bigger ones sit on reels that only join longer combinations, so the largest boosts arrive with the rarer wins, which fits the high label on the tile.
Springbok does not say what happens when one win holds more than one wild: whether the multipliers add up, multiply together or only the largest counts. That makes a real difference, so settle it on the rules page before you play for rand.
The free-game stages
Scatters start the free games. The preview describes a ladder of stages, each a few free games longer than the one before, and the tile says the multiplying wilds carry on through them. How you climb from stage to stage is not in the figures we hold, so do not count on reaching the top one until you have read the game's own help.
Meerkat Misfits vs Seahorse Surge and Devil's Jackpot
Wild multipliers show up on other slots we document, but each game uses them differently. From the lobby tiles:
| Slot | Volatility | Layout (tile) | Multiplying wilds on the tile |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meerkat Misfits | high | 30 paylines | A feature in their own right, and again in the free-game stages |
| Seahorse Surge | medium | 6 reels x 4 rows · 30 paylines | Part of the free games, with stacked wilds; cascading reels listed separately |
| Devil's Jackpot | medium | 3 reels x 3 rows · 9 paylines | Listed with a feature unlock system, nudging wilds and instant wins |
Seahorse Surge is the nearest match on paper, with the same number of lines and wild multipliers of its own, but its tile lists them as part of the free games, carries the medium label and adds cascades on a bigger grid. Devil's Jackpot is a compact game built around a feature unlock system. Meerkat Misfits is the only one of the three labelled high, and the only one whose multiplier, by Springbok's account, depends on the reel a wild lands on.
The safari slots: Meerkat Misfits, Big Cat Links and Lion's Lair
Three slots we document have a safari or wildlife theme on their tiles. They share the setting and very little else.
| Slot | Theme (tile) | Volatility | Lines | Jackpots on the tile |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meerkat Misfits | Safari | high | 30 paylines | None listed |
| Big Cat Links | African safari | high | 50 paylines | Mini to Super Grand |
| Lion's Lair | Lions and the wild | medium | 20 paylines | Local random jackpot |
Meerkat Misfits is the one with no jackpot on its tile, so everything rests on the wilds and the free games; Springbok's preview gives a top win as a multiple of the bet instead. Big Cat Links pairs the same high label with a gold-coin feature and five named jackpots. Lion's Lair is the medium-volatility choice, carries the IG label rather than RTG, and is known only from its lobby tile.
Finding Meerkat Misfits in the lobby
Go straight to the Slots tab: none of the lobby's shortlists carried Meerkat Misfits on 9 October 2026. In the A to Z run it is title 118 of 244, between Masks Of Atlantis and Mega Monster.
Meerkats are a Kalahari favourite, all upright sentries and family squabbles, and the game casts them as a gang of misfits; Springbok's preview invites you to join the gang. Our Springbok image set has no card art for it, so the hero shows a lettered stand-in where the art would be. For the wider Slots tab, from new releases to provider labels, see the guide to Springbok slots.
Meerkat Misfits with the welcome package
The high label is the lobby's way of saying dry spells are part of the design, so a bonus balance can run down before the wagering is finished, multipliers or not; pick your stopping point before you start. Free spins only help here if Springbok issues a spins coupon for Meerkat Misfits itself, because its terms tie spins to one game. This month's are for Seahorse Surge. The free spins guide shows what is running now.
Questions people ask
How do the wilds work in Meerkat Misfits?
The lobby tile calls them Multiplying Wilds. Springbok's preview says the multiplier on a wild grows by one step on each reel from the second towards the right, so a wild further right boosts a win more.
How many paylines does Meerkat Misfits have?
30 paylines, according to the Springbok lobby tile.
Is Meerkat Misfits high volatility?
Yes. The lobby tile labels it high volatility, like Big Cat Links; Lion's Lair, the other safari slot we document, is labelled medium.
Does Meerkat Misfits have a jackpot?
No jackpot is listed on its lobby tile. Springbok's preview gives a top win as a multiple of the bet instead, shown on the spec sheet as Springbok's claim.
